Always a Party
On the 3rd day Lucy rested. On the 5th day Lucy created a blog. These things take time, you know. Hello my friends, and forgive me for my absence.
Ben and Teresa's wedding celebration ran joyously and frenetically from last Thursday's Girls' Night Out to Monday's Wet and Wild White Water Wedding Rafting on the Arkansas River. I'll let you guess which I attended.) In any case, I've done enough hootin' and hollering in the past week to last me until the next family wedding---I should only live that long.
The wedding itself was held Saturday---all day and all night. What do I remember? Not much. My first Bloody Mary at the reception was huuge and deelicious! But after the two flutes of champane things got fuzzy. I remember some good-looking guy asked me to dance. I replied, "Of course, Sir!" but I'm not sure what happened after that. I think somebody took me home before I got ahold of the lamp shade. Lucy is such a party animal. However I have to admit it. I was the party-pooper Granny. Teresa's grandmothers both partied on until the end.
I'll be sharing some observations and anecdotes during the next few days. But more interestingly, I'll post lots of fun photos---naturally none of me that aren't flagrantly flattering.
PS: I hope everyone enjoyed Blogher '06!

Your outfit for the wedding was very glamorous and not at all grandmotherly. It sounds like you had a good time, hope you drank lots of water when you got home.

Thank you all so much for visiting. I am being a deliquent, but not totally faithless correspondant due to my demonstrated technical incompetence.
I'm having a devil of a time coordinating Blogger with my text and wedding photos. I'll probably just end up using Flicker---though I'd like to make it more like a journal. We'll see how it all washes out. I'm prety darn slow in the best of circumstances!
Lucy wondered what I'm holding the the photo above. I'd like to say a glass of Absolute but it was actually a grandmother's wedding bouquet. Ben and Teresa presented roses to the mothers and grands as part of their ceremony. It was very touching and thus I didn't let on I'd rather have a glass of Absolute.
Y'all don't give up on me now!

Lovely picture, and I'm glad you had a good time. I can't wait to read more about your adventures.
If you have time, I "unofficially" tagged you on my blog. No obligation. I know you've got a lot of blogging to do, getting us up to date on all the fun things you did while you were away for the wedding!

You would still be loveable even with a lampshade on your head. Boy do I understand the need to rest after an exciting visit somewhere. I am still recuperating from my Oregon trip.

Welcome back, Lucy! I've missed you.
You look absolutely stunning! LOVE your outfit and those shoes...move over, Sarah Jessica Parker! You sure do look stylish for.....85? Can't BE! I'll just say it once again...you are proof that age is simply a number. AND...I wanna look like you when I'm your age! Talk about aging gracefully. Glad you enjoyed yourself and look forward to more postings on the wedding.

I enjoyed the photos and commentary of the TWO wonderful wedding ceremonies. You looked totally FAB, by the way. I'm so happy for the young couple and wish them many years of wedded bliss.
You had a blog break and so did I. During my two week blog absence, my family and I did sooooo much. I will need a vacation to rest up from my vacation.
I will have a new post up on Wed.
I hope your week is going well.
